WHAT THE ‘‘AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICA ACT,” HR 3962, ACTUALLY SAYS
What does the bill recently passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, HR3962, short-titled the ‘‘Affordable Health Care for America Act,” actually say about major health-care issues? I here pose a few commonsense questions, cite some relevant passages, and offer a few brief comments.
See the article in The Objective Standard
This bill is 1,990 pages of mind-numbing legalese. It will reach deeply into federal and state regulations and laws, on a scale that will require years for experts to interpret. It will establish institutions that will be effectively irreversible. It will grant arbitrary powers to bureaucrats, who will have to interpret and enforce its dictates. A full analysis of its impact would require a commentary at least as long as the bill itself. American citizens cannot be expected to read and understand such legislation. But they should be aware that this is the nature of the laws being written by their (alleged) representatives in Washington.

Professor Lewis–
Many thanks to you for showing us what the health-care “reform” bill really is. Its socialist supporters can’t now weasel out of the truth.
We need intellectual ammunition like this to keep up the fight. jd

Very much d`´accord with Your analysis.
Europe used to copy and adapt the American way of life. Consequently most cultural “achievements” are now obiquitious such as fast food, pop art or the casting shows. We owe America very much and it is for me a pitty to observe how the USA is taking over the socialistic medical system we have in Germany. In fact the Hegelians won the battle on Capitol Hill and thats why our political Nomenklatura loves the Obama crew. Our medical system lacks any democratic foundation since it is a burocratic behemoth with thousand of boards and panels which are making contradictory decisions effecting the health. Billions of tax Euros are supporting an inefficent and costly system where the will of a patient is secondary to the goodwill and benevolence of the master burocrats. Once an expert put it like this: We have two casts in Germany the one of the burocratmasters and the slaves who pay the master. The ratio is one master to 6 slaves. Poor America heading for the tristesse of a platonic desert.

Thank you, Dr. Lewis, for your well-reasoned, obviously well-reasearched article on the health-care legislation. At last, a factual article, easily understood, with specific references listed and discussed. The most enlightening article I’ve been able to find on this subject.
